A beacon for conservatism in exile

I believe that we, as a nation, are about to enter into some perilous times. I believe that conservatism will be in exile for at least two years and possibly much longer. For the first time since the days of Woodrow Wilson, we could very well have a socialist with Marxist tendencies reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Sen. Barak Obama is without a doubt the crown Prince of Marxism. The most liberal senator in the history of our nation, Obama's policies dearly frighten me. He's making promises that even the biggest of dreamers could never imagine to provide. Even if Obama makes good on only a fraction of his promises we will see the greatest expansion of government entitlements in the history of mankind.

In these days I am reminded of the words of Thomas Jefferson, one of our framers and greatest minds of any time.

Jefferson said, “Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases.”

Conservatives have already lost in this election cycle. we are left with a moderate in John McCain and Socialist-Democrat in Barak Obama.

John McCain was may dead last choice in the pool of Republican candidates, I would love to have Mitt Romney running right now. But, we have what we have because we allowed New Hampshire to select our candidate. McCain won't even win New Hampshire next week.

Is this our penitence for becoming a party of borrow and spend big government country club Republicans? Are we being punished for squandering six years of majority leadership in the House and Senate while having a Republican in the White House? It very well could be.

At this time we must rebuild the Republican Party on the foundation of Reagan.

- Traditional American Values
- A commitment to fiscal responsibility
- Free enterprise
- Limited Government
- Strong National Defense

Will the true conservatives please step up and lead this party?

Weather McCain wins or loses (a loss is likely), the GOP must return to the principals of Reagan and the conservative values that formed this nation into the greatest on earth.

I don't believe that America's best days are behind her, but I do believe that we'll have to endure a dark cloud for a period while we refocus our values on what is truly important.

We will need encouragement and a voice during the coming days. I want to encourage each of you to consider becoming a member of The Heritage Foundation.

I joined the Foundation about a year ago and believe in their missions and want to support their efforts to keep conservative values and policies alive.

Heritage is a nonpartisan think tank devoted to conservative principals and values.

Take a look at their website, and decide for you yourself. But, I believe organizations like The Heritage Foundation are a huge resource to rebuilding American Exceptionalism.
